Now with access to one of the most extensive content mods for Neverwinter Nights 2, I've decided to abandon Neverwinter Nights 1 (for now) to take on an even bigger project: bringing Star Wars to the Sci-fi starved Neverwinter Nights 2.

Since creating my first post in regards to bringing Star Wars back to Neverwinter Nights, I've been given a few fantastic, though somewhat daunting opportunities to take my project beyond what I thought was possible. Simplifying a system and reducing its space offers focus towards the rest of the game. It carries the risk of becoming convoluted if not careful, but the other end of the spectrum is a game that is boring and uninteresting. The more elaborate the systems are in the game, the more space there is for the player to play in. There is the error space, but there is also the possibility space. Suddenly, there is play when there was none before. In one, it’s merely enough to spot me, but, in the other, you have to interact with me in a slightly more elaborate way (i.e. But catching someone in hide-and-seek is different than in tag. In both hide-and-seek and tag, you were the one who was It, and you had to catch me. That’s certainly a lot more fun than when we were playing hide-and-seek, but why? You step towards me, and I take off with you giving chase. But what if we were playing tag instead? You turn around and see me standing two feet away. Maybe you chuckle a little, but then you say, “OK, let’s play for real now,” and turn around and close your eyes. You close your eyes, count to 10, and then turn around to see me standing right behind you. But perhaps this can be better explained with a game of hide-and-seek. By allowing the player to interact with them on a more elaborate, detailed way, the game has given more play to the doors.

The Resident Evil doors have an extremely limited space where the player can only go through them.
